UPDATE TO TIMINGS OF THE SCHOOL DAY

26 April 2018

Dear parent/carer

Further to the previous letter I can now confirm the changes to the timings of the school day, which will come into effect when we move to the new school on Tuesday 5th June 2018.  We have tried to minimise the changes, the main one being that we now require 5 periods on a Friday morning to allow for our new curriculum structure.

The timings are now all the same Monday to Thursday and all lunchtimes are the same length, 50 minutes. The start time is unchanged at 8.30am and the end of the day Monday to Thursday is similar.  The increase to Homeroom time is to allow for development of increased pastoral support for pupils as well as tracking and monitoring of attendance and punctuality.

The timings of the periods are necessary to ensure that all periods are of equal length and, once in school, pupils operate by the bell. The timings are also broadly similar to what we currently have on a Monday.

If there is anything you wish to discuss further then please do not hesitate to contact us.

Yours sincerely
