In S2, all boys and girls take one period per week of Peak Performance. One of the many options available is the Football Academy@Newbattle High. The Football Academy is an exciting new initiative from the PE Department that won the Midlothian award for Outstanding Contribution to Sport 2007. From June 2007, the Football Academy will also be available as an option in S3, where pupils can continue their progress in S2, leading to an Intermediate 1 award.
If you are an S2 boy or girl about to choose your Peak Performance option, take just 2 minutes to read what the Football Academy@Newbattle High can offer you:
One solid hour hour of football every Wednesday Period 6 throughout the whole of S2.
- Your own personal Football Academy Team strip (small charge)
- Work on your skills to make you an Academy star.
- Academy visits to:
- Hearts Training ground
- Newcastle United
- Hampden
- Kevin Keegan’s Soccer Circus
- AZ Alkmaar
- Become part of a strong social team with confidence building.
- When you succeed in S2, have the chance to move into the Senior Football Academy in S3 with 3 periods a week and a chance to gain an Intermediate 1 award!
