Basketball Academy

In S2, all boys and girls take one period per week of Peak Performance. One of the many options available from the PE Department is the Basketball Academy. As of 2007, the Basketball Academy became available as an option in S3, where pupils can continue their progress from S2, leading to an Intermediate 1 or Intermediate 2 award.

For all you streetball players in S2, take time-out and see what Newbattle High is offering you during your one period of Peak Performance Basketball Academy this school year!

1 period a week of no-nonsense, buckets of sweat, high performance basketball.
Your very own Basketball Academy team uniform – mesh vest & shorts – (small charge).
Comprehensive work developing both individual & team skills.
Increased understanding of the THINKING PERSONS game.
The opportunity to develop an alternative philosophy on how to approach competitive sport. (no football attitude required)
Excursions to see British Budweiser League Scottish Rocks (Glasgow, Braehead Arena).
Opportunities to represent Newbattle in competitive games both home & away.
