INFORMATION FOR PUPILS
For the final two weeks of the term we will be returning to a focus on getting the basics right. Please reinforce and remind pupils of the following:

Uniform and dress code.
Attendance and punctuality.
Do not carry food or drinks from the bite site in to the corridors or classes at any time.
Phones and headphones must be kept out of sight during class.
Jackets must be removed within class.
These rules apply in homeroom as well as classrooms.

Staff will be performing spot checks over the next two weeks.
Mr Fair

CONGRATULATIONS
Congratulations go to the Newbattle pupils who entered the Vex IQ robot building competition held at Glasgow Clyde College on Thursday 6th December.

After quite a few hiccups in getting there, the team of 6 pupils managed to out-skill and overcome all other schools to win the Teamwork challenge pairing up with St Ninian’s High School from Renfrewshire in the final.

Although there were a number of stand-out individual performances in both robot driving and coding challenges, the Teamwork challenge was the main competition for qualification into the next stage at the UK finals in Birmingham in March 2019. Should the team compete well and, dare I say, qualify from the UK final, they will be invited to compete in the world finals to be held in Kentucky!

Mr Watt.

Every subject in school will have Teaching staff in attendance to discuss next steps in coursing as well as 40 Exhibitors from major universities, colleges, further education and employers large and small.

It is a key event to ensure that you have all the information you need to help your child choose the next course selection (which begins in January) or to look at their next steps, after leaving school in June.

6:30 – Headmaster’s welcome
7:00 – Visit subject Teachers in Hall, or exhibitors in the Bite Site.
